Decorating Ideas for the Holidays

Regardless of the spirit and excitement that surrounds the winter holidays, we all know that it can also be quite stressful. Decorating your home with festive and cheer is one of them. If you are concerned on how your in-laws, friends or even Santa will think of your holiday decorations, remember the following easy tips to transform a home.

NATURALS + COLOR
Using naturals are a great way to bring the outside in and bring warmth to your house.

Wind real or faux green garland on your dining table, looping between centerpieces and candleholders. Dress a banister, window, around doorways or swag on a mantel. A quick note for hosting holiday parties. Use artificial garland to ensure the long life of your decorations and on the day of your party snip sprigs of pine, balsam or other trees and plants to achieve the holiday smell of fresh garland.

Collect fallen pine cones and acorns and spray paint, dust or roll in glitter. Keep some plain for a nice balance of silver, gold and natural. Place in clusters or fill decorative jars with them. Quick and effortless.

Or, fill a clear glass container with rich, red cranberries then cluster natural branches in the container and add water. The water will magnify the cranberries nicely. This can also be used with clementines instead of cranberries and a floating candle. A beautiful combination of color and naturals.
